Top 5 Views in Italia

Updated: Feb 28, 2019

Our family's top five favorite places across Italy to just stop and take in the view.

5. Puflatsch, The Dolomites

The view at the top of the ski lift was worth the ride-- overlooking the Dolomites and the Italian Alps, the peak at Puflatsch was one of the best places to sit and sip a cappuccino.

4. Boboli Gardens, Florence

Hidden beauty awaited us at the top of the hill behind the Pitti Palace in Florence. The was the perfect spot for sitting in the shade and people-watching on a hot afternoon.

3. Hilltops in San Gimignano

The views of Tuscany were breathtaking at the top heights of hill town, San Gimignano. Winery's, churches, and winding roads stretched as far as our eyes could see.

2. St. Mark's Square, Venice

Several hours of our full afternoon in Venice were spent sitting at a table at Ristorante Quadri eating fruit and drinking Aranciata. Being such a tourist hotspot as well as a site of historic architecture, the things to see in St. Mark's Square are infinite.

1. Lake Como, Varenna

From the moment we arrived in Varenna, we couldn't get enough of the lake view. We spent hours reading in the shade looking out over the lake, riding the ferry boat, dining lakeside, and exploring the botanic gardens on our hotel's grounds.
